The HIW or How It Works Documents

Over the years Hale has assembled a set of How It Works documents, the HIW documents, that describe various subjects including how disk drives work and how they are supported on x86 computer systems. The documents are available as a collection of plain ASCII text documents in the file ALLHIW.ZIP and they are available online in HTML.

NOTE: THERE ARE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE DOCUMENTS IN ALLHIW.ZIP AND THE ONLINE HTML DOCUMENTS. THIS WILL BE CORRECTED SOON.
